When it comes to healthy eating, dealing with conflicting advice, expensive food and uninspired meal plans can take our well-intentioned attempts in a sharp downwards spiral, often meaning the few pounds we lose come out of our pocket rather than anywhere else. We’re told to cut carbs, banish beloved bread and part from pasta. Coming home from work to a sorry salad and stick of celery can test anyone’s willpower, but us witches and wizards at Wowcher have some magic up our sleeves, and it’s sure to get you in a twist

Enter the spiral slicer – a super easy way to reduce calories, get your five-a-day and create delicious and beautiful dishes with minimal effort! Letting you turn fruit and veggies like cucumber, sweet potatoes, beetroot, onions, apples and carrots into noodle-like spirals and ribbons, you’ll open up a whole new world of fab foodie finds, from chilli spiral fries to a crispy hash browns made with potato ribbons. It’s quick, convenient and weirdly satisfying to use!

Simply cut your chosen fruit or veggie to size and secure it between the spiral slicer and its handle. Choose from one of the three supplied blades based on whether you prefer ribbons, a thin noodle or a spaghetti-like noodle and place it in the device. Lastly, turn the handle and watch as you effortlessly create a twirl of treats ready to season and place on a slice of seedy toast or toss into a colourful salad. Homemade Zucchini Noodles Zoodles Pasta with Tomatos and Feta

Courgette noodles with grape tomatoes and basil

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon olive oil
  • Three chopped garlic cloves
  • Grape tomatoes, cut in half
  • A pinch of red crushed pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • One tbsp chopped fresh basil
  • One large courgette

Method

Grab a large pan and heat the olive oil over a high heat. Throw in the garlic and fry until golden, then pop in the tomatoes, pepper flakes and season with salt and pepper to taste. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan and simmer until the tomatoes soften.

Turn the heat up to medium-high and toss in the courgettes and basil. Add a sprinkle of salt and cook for a further two minutes – and there you have it! A quick, delicious and healthy eating option whipped up in minutes!
